  • Is that Really you, God?

God really still speak to us today. After reading the book, it seems like just a novel for many who are non-believers. For believers it could give an encouraging thought, it could give a doubtful thought. For the first group, ‘ I hope God will speak to me that way too in the decisions I make.’ For the latter, ‘sure? God never speak to me that way.’

For me, I could relate to some of the incidents that took place in the author’s life. How he wait upon the Lord for many decisions he made in starting YWAM (Youth with a Mission), and the whole journey of having a YWAM ship. Very often, I hear preachers said ‘the Lord spoke to me this, the Lord spoke to me that.’ I always feel so excited and as I grow in Christ, I always feel when I am close to Him, He will speak to me.

In the reading of this book, being in Tung Ling provided the environment for me to experience what the author experienced. Because every day we are soaked in His presence, learnt new spiritual lessons from one another and the lecturer. When God speaks to us, it will confirm when we shared with others, and they replied that God spoke the same thing to them. The way God spoke to Loren about the resurrected ship, and confirmed the word when the class heard and confirmed it different parts. The same week, God gave me a verse:” every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.” 2 Cor 13:1. God is so real when we truly seek Him.

We lived in a world with so many distractions, especially a developed country like Singapore. Internet, TV, newspaper etc. These drawn us away from spending time in God’s presence, to hear His voice speaking to us. If God is so important to us, then why are we not spending the equal amount of time in His presence as compared to the time we spent on TV and our work. Prayer is bringing us back to God, not bringing our requests to Him. Spending time must be intentional, and when we start doing that, all that the book has written become so real.

Reading the book is a reminder to me. I feel so often we are guilty of placing God as the last resort in our life, then our first respond in life. Every day, every moment, Lord, I want to live for You, and nothing going to take this away. Loren and his team lost focus, even when they thought they were doing it for God, to expand the organization, but they forgotten about God. We cannot forget the giver, when the gift becomes our focus.

  • 1st day of honeymoon

Is my 1st day in Tung Ling... Another chapter of my life...

The 3 spiritual punches for today...

    1. "What is it in your hand? " God ask Moses what is in your hand. And uses the most ordinary thing, thing that we feel is common - the stuff delivered the whole of Israel, opened the Red Sea, turned water into Blood, water came out of the rock.

    2. "What do you have in your house?" Elisha asked the widow what do you have in your house. Empty jars. The little bit of oil filled every empty jar that was brought to Elisha. Miracles can only happen when we empty our lives and let Him take over.

    3. "What is it in your eye?" Let us not see the natural... let God lead us to the supernatural...

    Lord,
I commit the next 3 months to You, to experience your supernatural miracles for my life. Lead me lean not on my own understanding, but trust that You will open a way up for me...

    Thank you Jesus.

  • Finishing the work

    New Folder

Our life is short on earth.

I love what my mentor told me last sunday. We are living on borrowed time. Every moment, every seconds that we are living is out of His grace. And the only difference a rich man and a poor man at his death bed is not the wealth accumulated in a life time... But the lives that we have encountered and touched and made a difference.

What is the best way to touch the most no. of lives in the shortest time?

Donate lots of money to the charity works, humanitarian.

    Education. Writing a book.

At the end of the day, we need to give an account of how have we used the 2 resources God have given us. - Our Time and money.

The next time you think of using these 2 resources, think again. Do I help one more person? Am i sending another soul to heaven?

This is a concept. Maybe many know already. Is not the Knowing that makes the difference, is the doing... I will want to commit my 2009 in doing. and want to do this... every resource i used, i am making some one happy...

  • A mission to Cambodia

    Dear God,

Thank you for choosing me to be one of your servant to the work at Cambodia. Life has not been the same since then. I saw your hands every morning in the lives of others, in the works we want to do.

I always know how I small I am when I look back the things you have crafted in my life. But you have never thought small of me. You used me in where I can be, together with your other children.

I saw Love in this trip. Love from your people - Love from Servants from Singapore, Love from full time staff at Cambodia. People gave what they can in these 3 days to the people we feel are less fortunate. To them, I prayed we light up their lives. That Life has not forgetten them. What more can we do? A lot more... Workers are few? Maybe not, I am willing...

Not just i am willing. Many are willing, let us start small, build deep, think Big.

There was a time where I felt God when are you coming back to restore the earth? That was such a selfish thought. This trip, from the day I stepped on to Cambodia ground, every person I met. I just realised there are so much yet to be done. My Father will come when the Word is spread to the end of the earth. 1 Peter 2:19 "God is not slow in keeping His promise..."

    to be continue...
